Built-In Storage
Smart storage solutions to make the most of small spaces, designed and built to your needs, from initial ideas and concepts through to finished room.

Attic Renovation Project
Objective: To transform a modest attic room into a bedroom/study. Client required a wardrobe, built-in drawer units, study desk, vanity table and push-to-open with soft close mechanism. My ideas include pull-out/put-away desk, angled wardrobe, recessed shelf and vertical grain finishing detail.
Stage 1: Discussions with client to ascertain needs, measurements and sketch ideas. Presented various ideas to the client and agreed on a concept.
Stage 2: Transforming sketches to accurate line drawings and CAD designs.
Stage 3: Creating prototypes of built-in drawers and plan project management for timeline and materials. Client requested birch ply.
Stage 4: Demo day! Dismantling interior of attic space.
Stage 5: Building off-site - due to limited space in the property and surrounding area, drawers, boxes, wardrobe, make-up desk build is made off-site in workshop.
Stage 6: Delivery to site and installation.
Stage 7: Oak flooring installed, rebuilding steps, skirting, cladding.
Stage 8: Lighting.
Stage 9: Final touches and final check with client.

Built-in wardrobe
Objective: Design and build built-in bedroom wardrobe with hanging, drawers, lighting and shaker doors to match room panelling.
Access to the room was difficult, so the cabinets were made "flat pack" off site and assembled in the room. The inside of the wardrobe is painted to match the walls of the room, and the outside to match the other woodwork.
Soft-close hardware used throughout.

Under stairs bookcase library
Objective: Build additional book storage under a flight of stairs. Three shelves to have book display stands and one to fit an abnormally large art book. A space in the bottom to accommodate an heirloom trunk.
Once a site survey undertaken, a detailed design was worked on. The bookcase was built off site and delivered in two parts and fitted into the alcove. The shelves and cover pieces feature rounded edges, A V-groove tongue and groove backboard. All finished in a good quality furniture wax.
Air vents were made in the plinth and the backboard to maintain airflow against the wall.

Boot Room Project
Objective: Transform downstairs bathroom into toilet and storage area. This involved removal of bath, toilet, basin; and designing built-in storage. Client requested sleek doors with rebate handles. All moisture resistant, painted in gloss white with airless sprayer to provide a consistent finish.
Room one: Initially housing a toilet and basin, this was removed to create space for floor-to-ceiling storage unit, including bespoke arrangements for odd-sized objects such as skateboards, golf clubs, shoes and cleaning supplies.
Room two: Replaced bath and existing setup with wall-hung toilet and basin.
